Downton Abbey Part 2 (like a Second Season)

Masterpiece Theater on PBS

is on it's second season of

Downton Abbey

and I am completely hooked.

So are a lot of other people.

                                                                       The story........

                                                The stately abbey and all it's fine furnishings...


                                                             But take a closer look.....

                                                             There in the background..... 

Did you notice.....

                                                                       The desk.......

The bells  to the rooms......

The copper pans.....

The bowls, the wooden egg holder...

The lights.....

The ironstone......

The cupboard.....

(could that be a Welsh Cupboard?)

Sure the upstairs of Downton Abbey  is fine....

But I have been fascinated by the servants furnishing

and all the utilitarian pieces.

Silly, I know.

Might have to get the book and DVD's

I wish there were more seasons.

 And that we do not have to wait as long as between them.

Do All Boys Socks Come With Holes?



                                                        It's a question that I repeat often.
                      
                             For some reason Youngest always seems to have a hole in his socks. 
           
             Course it doesn't help that he always has a shoe full of gravel from the school playgrounds. 

I truly believe he is reconstructing the school yard in our house

I hear Johnny Cash singing "I built it one piece at time, and didn't cost me a dime."

Don't ask why he still has a sock this bad.

I just edit his sock a couple weeks ago.

What Did You Get For Christmas?

I had a very lovely Christmas this year and one of my gifts that is very special to me is this blog.  Let me just say, I follow a lot of blogs.  A lot!  My hubby and kids tease me about it often.  I first started with an author who I like to read.  She has a funny daily blog on her website.  But that was really the only one for a long time.  Then while visiting my sister, she showed me a blog that did a bit about organization.  When I got home I started to following it.  Slowly I started clicking some of her favorite blogs on the side of her website and before I know it I had a long list of favorites saved.    Hubby said I should start a blog. My sister has also told me to start a blog too.  However working a full time job and having a hubby and kids, time just did not seem to be there to start up a blog.  I was just happy stalking my favorites.   

But there I was opening one of the last gifts of the Christmas morning.  My kids so excited about giving me this gift.  I could see it in their eyes.  I opened the little tin they wrapped.  Inside, on a piece of paper was written all the information I would need for this blog, password, URL and more.  Yup!  My kids had set up this site.  They gave it the name, which is an family inside joke and may change later. 

So here I am trying get started up.  I don't know how often I will post and I am not sure what I will talk about.  Probably just random stuff for now and maybe a recipe or two thrown in. 

We will see how it goes.  This little experiment of mine.  It will probably end up being more of a journal of mine.  I will flip if someone other than family starts following this.  Oh I should warn you that I am a terrible speller and writer. So bare with me.  I just sort of type whats in my head.  Proper grammar or not.

 So what did you get for Christmas?

CMan's Saturday Morning Eggs

 

 My youngest who is 9 years old likes to make scrambled eggs and eat scrambled eggs.  So, this morning he made some. 

Melt some butter.  Add an egg.  He only wants one egg.

Stir!  Stir again....stir some more.

 Salt if you like.

Add a glass of milk.   My little superhero is satisfied.  Ready to start the day.
