Labor Day Weekend Football Kickoff Lifelight

Here's to long weekends,
season's first kickoff, and
Lifelight.

We enjoyed watching the first game of the season.
We also started a project that we have been
needing to do this weekend.
We did not get it all done
so the rest will have to wait for next weekend.
Then maybe I will share.

Oldest and Middlest went to Lifelight and had a great time.
For those that do not know,
Lifelight is Christian music festival located in South Dakota.
It started in 1998 on a church lawn and has grown
into something big.

They left at 5:30 a.m.
They travel with a group  from church and they know some friends that get there the day before.
One of their friends have grandparents that lives there and they let them sleep in their basement.
They come home pretty tired but always glad they got the chance to go.
They come home with signed t-shirts, signed posters, and cd's, probably signed too.
They come home excited and very talkative until they crash.
Poor Oldest, she also had cross country practice tonight.

What did you do for your long weekend?
Whatever you did, I hoped it was a good one.

View from the Window

My husband was gone this last week for a conference.

The first day he got there, he sent me a picture.

It said ...

"Crappy view from my room"

Ahhhhh!!!

I'm pretty sure that he heard my scream from here.

You see, we don't live near an Ikea.

I think this one is the closest Ikea to us
and it's about 10 hours away.

So glad to have Hubby home.
Plus, he came home with gifts for me from Ikea.

Thanks Honey : )

Hope You Had a Great 4th of July

I hope you had a great 4th of July.  We did.  It was small and relaxed.  We invited a good friend and kids over, since her hubby had to work the evening of the 4th.  We had good food, lots of fun and still plenty of fireworks.

Here the kids are taking time from lighting daytime fireworks to pose for the camera.

They had a lot of fun.  We all had a lot of fun.

Bed Made for My Bird Man

Soooo,

I saw this picture today...
{Bird Nest Bed by O*GE, Creative Group}

I immediately thought of Youngest.

He loves his birds.

Angry Birds.  Definitely!

Stuffed chirping birds.  Yuuup!

He's little mob like mentality
even forces us to have numerous birdhouse
and feeders outside.

Then I was walking through the house
and saw
this..

and I realize,

he already has a nest!
Plus, he saved us tons of money.

I Would Like To Introduce You To....

I would like to introduce you to

Grandma, Grandpa and Baby Bear.

Here is Grandma.

She is pretty, delicate and needs to be handled with care.

I love her.

I got her at a flea market. She was a little pricey but when
I picked her up to check the marking on her bottom,  wink
the dealer dropped the price considerably without me asking.
A little birdie told me that if I didn't take it she would.
SOLD! To me. Sorry birdie.
I am so glad Grandma came home to live with me.

When I first brought her home she didn't have a name but soon we started
calling her Grandma because the kids needed a little reminder that this was no regular dish and
I wanted them to be careful with it.  So I told them to treat the platter as if it were Grandma.
The name just stuck.

This is Grandpa.

Grandpa is an old Pampered Chef glazed stone.

He likes to go grilling with Hubby, A LOT.
He is stronger, heavy and thicker then Grandma. No offense to the real Grandpa.
He goes to the grill, the oven, the table, and then the dishwasher with ease.

I love him too.

 This is Baby Bear

and he is just right!

He is smaller but just as strong as Grandpa.
He is prefect and goes in the dishwasher too.
I originally got him for his size and he had the look of ironstone.

I love him also.

Oh and just so you know

Grandma is a bath lady!
No dishwasher for her.
With a little bit of Dawn bubbles she is like a new lady.

And the kids really hate it when you tell them
that it's time to give Grandma her bath.
